Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
At least I identify with her.
She is very smart and sweet, and a bit devious to escape the tower.

We need to have another party!
by changeling inmy last one was fancy and pretty, the social event of the season.
i'm in the mood for something a little different tonight.. when i was a popular witness (before being a witness wore me down and my kids became teenagers and people starting judging us for being "liberal") we used to entertain a lot.
i miss that.. i'm a very social creature.

over a Sister's right to Wear Leg-Warmers
That has got to be the dumbest argument ever made to get rid of anyone, anywhere, in the history of the universe! Honestly. I believe it, though, because they can be very petty people sometimes.

A Loving organization?
by startingover inlast saturday an old friend of ours took her life.
she and her husband had almost been married 25 years, and we had known her longer than that.
she was like a little sister to my wife.

Dr. Spok
by reneeisorym inwhile i was a jw, i heard repeatedly that dr spok's techniques do not work.
it was wordly psycology.
we should follow the bible's advice to not spare the "rod" or spoil the child.

Adele Faber's and Elaine Mazlisch's How To Talk So Kids Will Listen, And Listen So Kids Will Talk was invaluable to me while working with preschoolers and with my own daughter. It helped me stay sane and compassionate. I was re-reading it recently and realized that much of the good advice was forgotten as my daughter got older. But, she's a pretty good egg, anyway.

Thanks! That was fun. I took Geography Of The Middle East about 11 years ago; much of what I learned then was forgotten (or has been changed). I don't remember all of those -stans from way back when . . . new countries, I think since the break-up of USSR or something?
